ABOUT ME

I am a graduate from Central Michigan University where I studied fashion design and event management. I was actively involved in the Fashion Association of Merchandise and Design (FAMD), an organization that provided me with leadership opportunities and professional related activities outside of the classroom. I have also been a member of American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC). I have been a designer and event coordinator for Threads, a completely student-run fashion show production and exhibition. Additionally, I have been a part of a great team were we worked together to successfully plan and execute a benefit concert to raise money for the Habitat for Humanity without a start-up budget. Being actively involved in these organizations requires me to be highly organized and have excellent time management skills, dedication, self-motivation, and of course innovative thinking.

My coursework has also developed my skill sets in many areas such as CAD, fashion illustration, advanced apparel design, flat pattern making, couture sewing techniques, and textile analysis that provided a solid foundation in computer skills and a deep understanding of the construction process. One of my most valuable design experiences I’ve had is being able to intern in the design department for an apparel surf company on the west coast where I gained valuable knowledge about working as a designer.

I believe that…

  • Being organized and detail oriented is extremely important to become successful in any professional environment.

  • Having the ability to work with a team helping one another achieve mutual goals.

  • In order to be successful in anything that I do, I have to have passion and motivation.

  • Being a visionary I am constantly inspired and bring creativity and uniqueness to anything that I do.
